Rainbow Glass Sculpture Artist

Maciej Habrat is a Polish-born artist, whose fascination with glass art began at a young age. His father was also an accomplished glassblower and he would spend many hours watching his father create glass masterpieces. He learned a huge amount from his father, who handed down his glassmaking secrets. Needless to say, glass quickly became Maciej’s passion.

After finishing school, Maciej went on to study at the prestigious ceramic and glass faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poland. He continued his glassmaking education even during his college holidays when he would travel home to Krosno.

After graduation, he returned to Krosno to work with various famous glassworks. Finally, in 1977,  he realised his dream to design artistic glass and opened his own company – Glass Studio Habrat. His work has since gone from strength to strength. He has created a variety of sculptures and decorative items using the fusing technique. Many galleries all around the world showcase his playful, absurd and abstract work.

His works are in several hundred public and private collections,  across the globe including the UK.
