Handcrafted Glass ‘Veldfire Vase and Pot’ by Kalki Mansel

For nature lovers and those with a deep connection with the different seasons, choose the Veldfire handcrafted glass vase and pot from Kalki’s collection. These handcrafted glass art pieces use no moulds or machinery to complete them. The Veldfire collection from the artist is of a beautiful orange and black design, the vase and pot being a perfect representation of the change of season from summer to fall.

The orange of the vase shows how connected Kalki is with the natural world and the different colours that brighten up our planet. Perfect to display side by side or individually, the tall vase is a great choice for displaying dried flowers in beige and natural colours. The Veldfire pot is stunning in its own right and standing alone on a mantelpiece or above the fire it will bring warmth to your home.

Handcrafted Glass Artist

Kalki’s relationship with glass started at the tender age of 13 when he came across a glass art studio in Northern Ireland. Moving from the South with his family, he would spend as much time as possible hanging out at the Glass Studio he had stumbled across. Kalki finished his secondary school education, spending as much as possible of his spare time at the studio. America was his destination on completing school, and here he would learn more about his passion by visiting several studios and getting to know their individual artists.

On return from America, Kalki enrolled at Sunderland University to study for a BA honours degree in Glass, Architectural Glass, and Ceramics. His passion for glass had become intensified during his time in America, and in 2007 he graduated from Sunderland. 2008 took Kalki to Australia, and on his return, he was to start working for the Jane Charles Studio of Glass in Sunderland as well as the National Glass Centre.

Today, Kalki continues to work in Sunderland, for both studios, and as a glass blower and practising glass artist. Kalki’s works are inspired by many fields including science, the natural world, colour, and culture. Molten glass is the perfect material for expressing and capturing his inspirations, Kalki loving to share his fascination with glass with others through his handcrafted glass works.
