Igor Muller is a glass artist from the Czech Republic. He graduated from the Secondary Art and Industrial School of Glass, where he studied glass metallurgy. After graduating, Igor honed his skills at several glass factories including a 3-year stint in the USA. Igor returned to the Czech Republic and started his own studio in 1998, which is part of Glass Moa.
Glass MOA is a group of talented glass artists from the Czech Republic, where they handcraft beautiful Art Nouveau style glass vases and ornaments.
Art Nouveau is a decorative style that rose to popularity in the 1890 and early 1900’s. It came about as a reaction to traditional styles like Classical, Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo. Many years have passed since its introduction, yet Art Nouveau has an enduring captivation.
The Czech Republic has a very long tradition in the production of glass. Indeed, the gorgeous glass pieces by Igor Muller and Glass MOA artists are inspired by the masterpieces of the great Czech artist Johann Loetz.
Johann Loetz founded the company Loetz. The company became the foremost manufacturer for bohemian art glass during the Art Nouveau period. Loetz glass became famous for its innovative techniques, organic forms, and bold use of colour.
Glass Moa, take great pride and inspiration from their Czech heritage in glass making. They use a variety of techniques and styles to create their highly decorative glass vases and ornaments. Take a moment to appreciate the lovely range of colours used in their glass art – the iridescent shades are especially beguiling!
