Paper Relief Art ‘Autumn Song’ by Amanda Deadman  Art

‘Autumn Song’ is a beautiful paper relief art by Amanda Deadman.  This artwork celebrates Autumn as Amanda loves the vibrant colours of the leaves as we head towards Christmas.

In order to capture all the different Autumn colours in this piece, three large sheets were painted in watercolour.  Spirals were then painted across them in metallic watercolours to add shimmer. Then lots of different types of leaves in various sizes were cut from those sheets.  Some leaves were given a wash of white watercolour to add contrast.

Attaching each individual leaf is a painstaking process and a labour of love, but we are sure you’ll agree the result is stunning! The intricately textured relief design reveals individual leaves on closer inspection. And the different shadows cast by the leaves are as interesting a the piece itself.

Materials used: Watercolours and metallic watercolours on heavy watercolour paper, in a deep box frame glazed with Perspex.
