Butterfly Wall Art ‘Evening Light’ by Amanda Deadman
Amanda Deadman’s butterfly wall art features beautifully painted and hand-cut watercolour butterflies. Each lovingly crafted butterfly is arranged and attached to the card within a deep box frame.
This is the fourteenth of her “Find your wings and fly away” series of pictures. ‘Evening Light’ is created in a bluey purple to light pink graduated watercolour painting of different swirling lines. She then adds lines and circles in gold leaf and punch-cut three sizes of a butterfly from the painting.
Each of the three-dimensional butterflies is decoratively arranged in a graduating colour square attached to heavy watercolour paper within a white glazed deep box frame glazed with glass. The result is a vibrant bluey purple to light pink modern relief design revealing individual butterflies on closer inspection. Different shadows are cast, and light is reflected from the gold leaf on the up-turned wings depending on the direction of the light.
The graduated colours of the butterflies and the changing size of the gold stripes make a wonderfully eye-catching design.
Materials used: Watercolour and gold leaf on watercolour paper in a white glazed (glass) deep box frame.
