Framed Paper Artwork ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ by Amanda Deadman Art

Amanda Deadman’s framed paper artwork is incredibly popular and it’s easy to see why! She paints and handmakes incredibly intricate and beautiful designs that have a fabulous texture and colour palette.

“Somewhere Over The Rainbow” framed paper artwork is the fourth in the series. Amanda creates these artworks by first punch-cutting lots of butterflies from heavy watercolour paper. The butterflies are arranged in undulated lines diagonally across a square sheet of the same paper. She then paints rainbow colours onto the “butterfly square” with watercolours.  Gold leaf is added some random butterflies which adds sparkle to the whole piece.

A very bold colourful modern textured relief design reveals individual butterflies on closer inspection.  You will see different shadows cast, and reflections from the gold leaf depending on the direction of the light.

Materials used: Watercolour and gold leaf on heavy watercolour paper framed within a white deep glazed (Perspex) box frame.
