Handcrafted Glass Vase ‘Black Galaxy’ by Kalki Mansel

From the black galaxy collection by Kalki, the black galaxy handcrafted glass vase is a stunning and tall vase with red, yellow, and orange chips. Staring at the vase, you will imagine the sky at night, becoming closer to nature and losing yourself deep in thought.

The red, yellow, and orange chips decorate the vase beautifully, making it the perfect vessel for displaying freshly cut flowers of the same colours.

Whether you love red roses or yellow chrysanthemums, the black galaxy handcrafted glass vase will be perfect for your home. Its dark colours will blend perfectly with traditional furnishings and carpets, and the black glass will bring a touch of mystery and darkness to your home.

Choose the vase from the black galaxy collection as a centrepiece or for displaying flowers, or couple it together with the urn, bowl, or scent bottle from the same collection.

N.B. The images shown are an example of the ones in the series. Each vase is handmade and therefore there will be small variations in colour and pattern. Each one is completely unique and signed by the artist.

Handcrafted Glass Vase Artist

Kalki’s relationship with glass started at the tender age of 13 when he came across a glass art studio in Northern Ireland. Moving from the South with his family, he would spend as much time as possible hanging out at the Glass Studio he had stumbled across. Kalki finished his secondary school education, spending as much as possible of his spare time at the studio. America was his destination on completing school, and here he would learn more about his passion by visiting several studios and getting to know their individual artists.

On return from America, Kalki enrolled at Sunderland University to study for a BA honours degree in Glass, Architectural Glass, and Ceramics. His passion for glass had intensified during his time in America, and in 2007 he graduated from Sunderland. 2008 took Kalki to Australia, and on his return, he was to start working for the Jane Charles Studio of Glass in Sunderland as well as the National Glass Centre.

Today, Kalki continues to work in Sunderland, for both studios and as a glass blower and practising glass artist. Kalki’s works are inspired by many fields including science, the natural world, colour, and culture. Molten glass is the perfect material for expressing and capturing his inspirations, Kalki Mansel Glass artist loves to share his fascination with glass with others through his works, not just this handcrafted glass vase, but many other works as well.
