Glass Flask Bottles ‘Seashore – Flattened’ by Thomas Petit
Thomas Petit adds to his wonderful ‘Seashore’ series with these elegant glass flask bottles. The flattened flasks have a delightful teardrop shape, with an elongated slimline neck that ends with a fluted mouth. A sensual and elegant shape in a range of alluring colourways.
The ‘Seashore’ collection was inspired by Thomas’ childhood trips to the coast. The beauty of the rugged coastlines, the undulating movements of the waves and the ever-changing colours in the sky left a lasting impression.
Bring the beauty of the UK coastline into your home or office when you choose a piece from the Thomas Petit’s Seashore series. They would suit both traditional or contemporary style decor.
Glass Flask Bottles Artist
Thomas Petit started in the world of clay, before entering the field of glass art. At first, he was unwilling to expand his knowledge, he then remembered a visit to a Dartington Crystal Factory. This memory jolted his desire to broaden his horizons, and Thomas embarked on a glass blowing course in Cornwall. Financial difficulty meant he was able to accept a three-year apprenticeship, and Petit eventually took up a voluntary position at The Glasshouse in Covent Garden. After various jobs and time spent in New Zealand. Thomas settled in Derbyshire, on the edge of the Peak District.
Feeling the stress of working a full-time job in 2015, and juggling it with his glassmaking meant Thomas was to make an important decision. By 2016, Thomas was concentrating solely on his glassblowing. The inspiration for his works comes from everyday objects and experiences and art and his own photography. Many of his best works have actually been happy accidents, he confesses. One of his latest ranges that continues to evolve is the ‘Sea Shore,’ inspiration coming from his childhood trips to East Sussex.
