Sigi Hill glass artist decided it was time to explore a creative path in 2005, after a 17-year career in International Banking.   It was during a foundation course in Art and Design at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, that her interest in glass first sparked.  She went on to study at the University of Creative Arts (UCA) in Farnham.  It was here that she obtained a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Three-Dimensional Design specialising in Glass.

Sigi works from her studio in Hampshire, designing and making her inspired designs.   Her work uses glass frit which gives her the flexibility to blend colours without losing their definition. The resulting part fused, crystalline with smooth textures which are complex and intriguing.   Sigi enjoys being able to create simple yet measured shapes which reflect her initial inspiration.   Sigi enjoys creating her own visions of nature, but also delights in working to a brief.

At her Hampshire studio Sigi runs workshops and tutorials for glass.   She also offers drawing and mark-making at various venues in the UK.

Sigi is a member of The Society of Designer Craftsman (LSDC), The Surrey Sculpture Society, The Hampshire and Berkshire Guild of Craftsman and the Contemporary Glass Society. She has exhibited in numerous venues across the UK.
