Jessamy Kelly glass is inspired by natural phenomena to capture a fleeting, transience in her art glass.

Dr Jessamy Kelly is a talented, award-winning artist specialising in high-quality art glass design and production.

She completed her BA in Glass and Ceramics at the University of Sunderland in 2001 and went on to complete a Masters in Glass at Edinburgh College of Art, in 2002 and a PhD in glass and ceramics at the University of Sunderland in 2009. She is a Lecturer in Glass at Edinburgh College of Art and is the vice-chair of the Raft research group, a network that supports and explores the changing identity of craft practice. Jessamy exhibits her work widely throughout the UK as well as internationally throughout Europe and the United States.

Jessamy is based in Edinburgh, where she works predominantly in kiln cast glass. She seeks out natural phenomena that allow her to capture a fleeting, transience in her work; capturing light by diamond cutting the glass to reveal its inherent transparent and translucent qualities.  She is a highly accomplished academic and her knowledge of industrial glass design and manufacture has established her as a specialist in the field.

In addition to her academic achievements, Jessamy is an award-winning artist.  Jessamy Kelly glass won the craft & design Selected Maker of the Year Gold Award. She also won the First Prize at The Meffan Winter 2010 Exhibition.
