A modern copy of Meredith Frampton’s painting – ‘Marguerite Kelsey’ (1928)
More impressionistic than the highly realistic original. A good imposing portrait for a hallway or drawing room.
Kelsey was a professional artists’ model and famous for being able to hold a pose for a very long time.
This copy of the original is without the red shoes that Frampton bought for Kelsey (along with the dress) for the original painting.
The original hangs in the Tate Gallery.
