Oil Painting Of London ‘A Beach On The Southbank’ by Richard P Cook

This marvellous oil painting of London captures a beautiful sunny day on a beach on the Southbank. Richard Cook brings us this wonderful scene of Londoners taking time out from the ‘hustle and bustle’ of London life and enjoying a bit of sunshine.

This view was in fact captured on a typically chilly London morning, which made the ‘sunbathers’ enjoying the sand so enthusiastically particularly charming.

Adorn your living room, dining room or hallway with this oil painting of London – perfect for lovers of the awe-inspiring architecture and the river Thames.

British painter, Richard P. Cook, RBA (Royal Society of British Artists) has travelled extensively seeking beauty in the light, colour and variation of landscapes, both natural and manmade. Born in the fishing town of Grimsby, marine and maritime subjects often thread through his work. He studied painting and sculpture at Grimsby, and later Maidstone College of Art. Richard was then invited to complete his post-graduate studies at the Royal Academy schools, London.

Richard’s early work won acclaim and earned him a Richard Ford travelling scholarship to Spain, an E.T Greenshields travelling scholarship and the David Murray landscape award, amongst others. Richard has been a member of the Royal Society of British Artists for 40 years. His work features portraiture and famous landscapes such as this oil painting of London. Richard’s work is well-represented in private collections in the UK and abroad. His portraiture has been included in exhibitions for the Royal Portrait Society at the Mall Galleries and at the National Portrait Gallery.
